Solar panel cleaning and inspection in Wimborne

We clean, inspect and make minor repairs to existing solar arrays across Wimborne on a monthly plan, rather than as one-off jobs. Twenty minutes or so north of us.

We cover Colehill, Corfe Mullen, Merley, Pamphill, Furzehill and Sturminster Marshall, and the surrounding BH21 postcodes.

Booking October visits now. We work one postcode area at a time rather than criss-crossing the county, so slots in each area are limited by how many homes one person can properly look after. A £25 refundable deposit holds a place, and it comes off your first month.

Trees, shade and the moss that follows

What actually lands on a roof in Wimborne, and why it matters.

A heavily wooded town on a river

Wimborne sits on the Stour with mature oak, beech and lime through much of the town and the surrounding villages. Autumn leaf fall lands on roofs and lodges along the bottom rail of an array, and it stays damp there long after the roof itself has dried.

Damp and shade are what moss and lichen want

Sheltered, shaded, damp panel edges are close to ideal growing conditions. Lichen in particular bonds to glass and to the frame seal, and it is not something a hose removes. Left long enough it needs careful work rather than force.

Partial shading costs more than its size suggests

A mature tree that clips one corner of an array for two hours a day is not shading a twentieth of your system. Because of how cell strings behave, it can pull down a whole string. Shade management is often the highest-value thing we flag on a Wimborne roof.

Larger rural plots

Colehill, Pamphill and the outlying villages have space, mature planting and often larger properties — which usually means bigger arrays and more tree cover at the same time.

Our honest take for Wimborne: If your array sits under trees, ask us to look at the shading as well as the glass. Trimming the right branch can be worth more than any amount of cleaning.

What a visit covers

We are a maintenance and cleaning business, not an MCS-certified installer. If something needs an installer or an electrician, we will tell you plainly rather than have a go.

Not sure how often you need it?

The honest answer depends on where your roof is and what is above it, which is exactly what the sections above are about. We have written up the reasoning in full: how often solar panels should be cleaned in the UK.
